My Review for "The Three Musketeers"

The Three MusketeersThe Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My first classic that I give 5 stars , and is a favorite book , Alexandre Dumas does it again, blow my mind with his writing and imagination. I have to say after reading this book, I had to watch the movie again (last movie that came out) and then saw the TV show (oh how I love that show and how some things turn out, so happy).

This book is one of those that you do not know what to do, just live the ending how it is or continue with the next books see where the story goes. What I kept wondering is why is it called just 3 musketeers because D'Artagnan is as much as one as all the other 3, because of their friendship and what they do one for each other. Love the writing of this book, never a doll moment, always something will keep you interested, and you will be apart of their story from the beginning to the end. So many things are not said in the movies I always watched ( and I think for the best because I would've get kicked out of the cinema for everything I would say and do), from MiLady that now I do understand her (well those are not such good reasons to be how she is) but hate her more then ever (and ask myself how they can be so naive ; I would write until tomorrow about Milady).

When I get happy that now D'Artagnan is a musketeer too, still everything falls apart , even love does not have a say in this book (why are you so mean, my poor heart can not take it anymore), and gets me to wonder should I continue with this story or I can accept this ending. (have to finish here, or I will never stop talking about this amazing book, and give main events away).

My review for "Arcana Rising" book 4

Arcana Rising (The Arcana Chronicles, #4)Arcana Rising by Kresley Cole

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Disclaimer , the ratting for this book I gave it so low for only one particular reason, Love triangle . I am so sorry guys this is the first book in the last 2 years to give a 2 stars, but I had to, because I tried reading the book and when I got to a certain chapter I could not continue, so I switch to audio and even on that one it was very hard to listen to it and not hate it skip and more.

Warning I love this series but I hate the fact the writer keeps dragging the love triangle so much, like I hate Death but at this point I am like just make your mind. Also There might be Lots of Spoilers so be careful when you start reading this.

BIG SPOILER ALERT read at your own risk.

This book drove me crazy from every point of view, is not a very big book but it took me 6 months to finish this book and even then by skipping a lot. We all remember all the previous books in this series doesn't Evie always pick Jack even though she ends up in Deaths arms???????!!!!!! (view spoiler) I love the plot and story of this series but the love triangle is just getting on my nerves , like just pick one (even if I do not like him) and stay with him. However beside all of that how I said before this series Has been and hopefully still will be one of my favorite because of how well the story has been written; very original story with nice pacing and amazing adventures that will just play with your emotion like crazy ( I think is one of the few books I ever read to experience all of my emotions at once )

The 5th book hopefully will be as epic as we all expect and that the writer does not kill any of this lovebirds (even those I do not want Evie with Death, I love Alaric his character is amazing , reminds me of Damon Salvatore trying to be bad but he can not because of her) , and to please choose one guy for her or will be probably one of the first fantasy book I read that the girl ends up with both guys and she keeps them both.

Please do not hate me for this review or the ratting , it took me a long time to write it , I waited a long time to pass so my feelings will change , but I can not because hate the direction it end up this book.

My review for "Mettle" book 2

Mettle (Spartan Riders, #2)Mettle by J.C. Valentine

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a book, I said it before and I will say it again J.C. Valentine is an amazing writer, she is the only author that makes me read this type of genre ( not really for me ). The only reason I do not give a 5 stars is because unfortunately I had to skip at some points a page or paragraph ( a little to much details for me).

Although this is the second book in the series , you can read it as a stand alone (lots of her books are like that)if you do not mind getting more of the back story towards the end. Tucker is the VP of the Spartan's (biker club) and does not want to be 'controlled' emotionally by any women. Talia is here for just a job (or is it more) that has been keeping her busy for months (but is she on the right lead?!). However Talia and Tucker appear to have the same enemy Cruiz (the president of the other biker club, and someone that really wants Blake and Gabby to pay) without even knowing they start fallowing the same leads. Also we will have some more of Blake and Tucker famous 'interactions' that will make you laugh and love them even more (if that is even possible)

Two people that said no to love because of a bad past find each other and do whatever possible to keep each other safe but will deny everything until they have to take a decision.

My Review for "Skinny"

SkinnySkinny by Donna Cooner

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my sister's book from school and I can not believe I have not read this book before, thank my readathon for pushing me to read it, is an amazing book. I can not even explain in words how much I loved this book, I am giving the book a 4.7 stars because at some points the book really got to me, that's how rough it is.

As how you read in the synopsis this book follows Ever struggling with her weight and the mental illness that brings her. What you have to be careful when you get into this book is to ready of how rough it is, that is why I love it so much because it explain almost exactly how the person with eating disorders struggle mentally. Ever starts at the weight of 302 pounds and tells us everything that is going on in her life, how people treat her before the weight loss and after , also the challenges that her mind creates. All the troubles in her mind are started by Skinny a voice in Ever's head that put her down even after she gets amazing results.

This book was on point with almost everything a person that has eating disorders deals with. It shows exactly that we are our worst enemy (this book really hit home, I developed ulcer from not eating for days , I did that back and forth for years, even now I struggle to eat even a little bit so my stomach wont hurt ... yes I sometimes unfortunately teach myself to forget about the pain and not eat). Had to put the book down many times because of how real it was and made me yell and cry for Ever and hate that voice that does not let us see how beautiful we are.

About the Book

Taran Wird holds the unique ability to conjure fire and lightning. She is mated to Gemini, Second in Command to the Squaw Valley Pack of the Lake Tahoe Region, and the sole werewolf to possess the ability to split into two wolves. And although they are mates, Taran's insecurities have driven them apart.
Devastated by an injury that left her with a zombie-like limb, Taran struggles to regain command over her magic. But when her arm and her power turn against her, lashing out on those she most loves, she knows she can no longer carry this burden alone. Not that she likes the alternative.
The only way to regain control of her magic is to align and learn from the local coven of witches―the very ones who sought to banish her when she and her three unique sisters first moved to the mystical region. But although Taran is trying, the teachings don't come easy, and the tasks leave her weak and emotionally shattered.
Yet Taran must learn and learn fast. Time is running out. The fire she once mastered so easily has become her greatest adversary and is now slowly burning her alive.

Excerpt #1

Son of a bitch.
I groan as I roll onto my back. I’d like to say this is the first time I’ve been knocked unconscious. I’d also like to say my boobs are the same size, but hey, such is my life.
Dirt. All I sense is that and dank heaviness that accompanies a . . . cave? Through the fog taking up residency along my brain, I make out a dim glow. It takes me a moment to realize it’s coming from my light-saber arm. I push up on my hands, grimacing when my fingers sink into the soil. Yet it’s what I see when I glance up that has me scrambling to my feet.
A lonely hand scuttles by me, chasing after a rat. Oh, but it gets better. I press my back against a dirt wall as a foot hops by, chasing after the hand, that’s chasing after the rat, with a decapitated head rolling —I shit you not—merrily behind them.
It’s like some kind of fucked up nursery rhyme. I don’t want to know the next verse, especially not with the collection of zombies gathering from all sides. These are different from the ones who pulled us onto shore. Their grisly faces are more emaciated and their bodies are in a more advance stage of decomposing. As they shuffle toward me, pieces of their skin fall in small moist clumps.
I hold out my hand. “Stay back.”
They collectively moan.
And move closer.
I grit my teeth, summoning that spark from deep in my core. The dank air seems to enclose around me, giving me a chill and snuffing out my inner heat.
Shit, shit, shit.
On wobbly legs, I slide my back against the dirt wall, my hands out. The zombies gather closer, cocking their heads, their empty sockets mesmerized by the glow of my arm. At first, I think they’re simply curious. But then their short thick tongues push forward, appearing to lick what’s left of their lips.
I jump when another hand scrambles by, its pinky brushing against my foot. My back presses against the dirt wall as I slide against it. I’m not sure where to go. I only know I can’t stay here.
I bang my fists against the wall, trying to stimulate my fire. My left hand doesn’t react, tensing uselessly. But that spark I so need triggers from my right arm, igniting flames along the path of my blue veins only to putter out.
Come on, light

Excerpt #2

I punch the wall harder, the effect causing another spark.
The zombies limp forward, closing in, reaching out.
I jerk from fear and pain when a root pokes me in the back. I can’t be too far from the surface. That doesn’t mean I can see a way out.
I punch at the wall, the small space I managed to put between me and the zombies quickly disappearing. Come on. Come on. Light.
A woman with no ears tugs at my hair.
Please, light.
A boy, no more than four grips my waist.
God damn it, light!
The long dark tunnel explodes in a wash of blue and white as my arm catches fire.
I gasp from its viciousness and its sudden arrival. “Okay, thanks,” I say, wishing I didn’t fear it as much as I do.
The zombies have stopped, appearing stunned as their absent stares focus on the light. I think that I’m in a good spot, and that at least for now, I’m safe and can find my family.
Until the little dead boy at my waist grabs my arm and detonates to ash.
My screams echo along the dirt tunnel, the sob that follows lodging in my chest when the zombies hurtle themselves forward and knock me down. Hands reach for me, batting at my skin. I think they’re trying to kill me. But it’s not until my arm blows them to bits that I realize they’re trying to re-die.
I push up on my legs, shoving the mounds of heavy ash away and take off running. I keep my arm out and away out of habit. Yet despite the intense heat, it’s not singeing me—not like before. But like moths to a flame, the zombies stagger forward.
They’re not fast, but neither am I. The stones poking through the ground make it hard to maneuver, and so does the narrowing tunnel. I’m sure I’m going the wrong way, and burying myself deeper, until I catch a small trace of sunlight in the distance.
The pitiful howls and the moans of the zombies overtake the small space. They’re close. All of them. But I don’t dare look back.

My Review for "Lady Midnight" book 1

Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1)Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

WARNING i liked the book but hate some things about it, that made me stop reading any book for few days. I will give an overall 2.9 stars because I did enjoy it (maybe I expected to much from it...If you want a real reaction to this book check it here and love the cover. Took me some time to put my thoughts about this book in order and express my felling as good as possible.

The plot for me it was up and down, at some points I felt that it will pick up then again going everywhere. This book is based on the life of Emma and the Blackthorn family (who I came very fond of them since the mortal instruments series), the way that they try to raise the kids in London. We have a new head warlock introduce that helps the family how he can, and one very important family member will be joining the family again.

What makes me happy is that now and then we have our lovely characters from all the series coming in every now and then helping with something, giving advice (one that ruined me and maybe hate the last two chapters ). Lots of questions that you have about shadowhunters will be answered in this book (and other questions will appear). Felt that this book is very predictable to me, like after few chapters in I already knew what will start happening before it was happening.

Ok For Everyone that HAS read this book you have to understand why do I feel like this about the book , because of how much drama will be for sure in the 2nd book and how Emma's choice will hurt the Blackthorn's family, not just that particular person ( everything will change, more danger will appear , you guys know from what character that is alive again, and the change in Julian ppl will hurt everyone around also...I hate drama, because in the end will happen what they tried to stop).
