“Walk me through it one more time,” I demanded. “What happened?”
“The four of us were hanging out by the fountain, talking to a couple of cute guards—” Brooke began.
“Speak for yourself,” Seth interjected.
She shot him an annoyed glare, then continued to talk. “Anyway, all of a sudden, we were attacked by a gang of these…these creatures.
There’s no other way to describe them. Huge, scary werewolves and rogue
vampires. But there was something really weird about them.”
“What do you mean?” I pressed.
Brooke scrunched up her forehead. “I don’t know. I can’t explain it. They were so beastly, so inhuman. Like, inhuman even for vampires and werewolves.”
Sophie nodded. “She’s right. It was like they were…zombies.”
